Setting up a Woods Check

Setting up a Woods Check will take one person about 10 minutes.  It is very simple to do.  All of the equipment needed for a woods check is shown below.  Notice that the frame for the chute that the racers pass through is left partially assembled so that it is easier to install.

Equipment to set up a Woods Check

A good spot for a woods check is somewhere that is fairly level and has trees around it.  One tree is used to secure the check frame. There should also be sharp turns before and directly after the check so that the racers have to slow down.  The frame is then assembled and secured to a tree using a tie down.  The opening should be set to approximately 36" wide.

The panel antenna is then installed into it's holder and one connection is made from the electronics to the antenna.

Now turn on the reader and that's it! were ready to race!  Note that the case for the electronics is usually left closed for protection from the elements (dust, rain etc.).
