The offer:
Download the software to get everything you need to score a race by entering
the riders numbers manually. Instructions are included in the zip
file. Actually, the software has everything you need to use RF tags
as well, except the instructions do not go into detail on how it is done
(I just have not taken the time to do this). You could use a bar
code reader with a keyboard interface very easily.
What I ask in return:
The main reason I am offering this software is to help out motorcycle clubs
who want to do electronic scoring, but are not sure how to do it.
Feel free to use this software as you see fit for evaluation purposes.
If you would like to use this software in a real race, contact me and we
can work a price for use of the software. Don't worry, I'm not in
it for the money. Here's my view on the issue. If you are running
a big series and turning a big profit every race, then I expect we can
negotiate a fair price based on the value the software provides to your
organization. If your organization puts on races but makes very little
profit, then you are obviously doing it for the fun of the sport, not to
make money, and I may give you permission to use the software for very
little or nothing.
